At least 11 students from Zeeland University in The Netherlands, on Tuesday paid a visit to the Observer Company, as part of an exchange visit to The Gambia.
The students, hosted by the Gambia College, would continue their tour to historical sites and sacred places in the country.
The visiting students, accompanied by Abubacarr Jallow, Senior Lecturer at the Gambia College and their counterparts from the Gambia College, were received at the Observer Company (producer of the Daily Observer) by Mr. Ebrima Jaw Manneh, a News Editor of the Daily Observer, who led them on a conducted tour of the various departments of the company. Mr. Manneh delved into the history of the paper, its structures, and successes, among others.
Speaking to the Daily Observer, Mr. Abubacarr Jallow said the students were delighted with the spectacular reception accorded to them at the Observer Company. He said they have also visited the Abuko Nature Reserve, Katchikally Crocodile Pool, beaches and were also planning to visit Janjangbureh in CRD, before they will wrap up their two weeks visit.
Prof Rinze Friso, a Lecturer at Zeeland University, who accompanied the visiting students, expressed satisfaction about the way the Daily Observer Company operates. He thanked Dr Saja Taal, Managing Director of the Observer Company for receiving them.
He also thanked the Dutch government for providing funds for their trip to The Gambia.
