
The Integrated Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Project (ICAM) presented a cheque for D145, 000 to Alkali Kunda village in North Bank Region on Thursday.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the project coordinator of ICAM Ousainou Touray said that the gesture is geared towards funding the village hand pump as well as empowering women in the village. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money given to them.
Receiving the cheque, the alkalo of Alkali Kunda village, Kabiro Kanteh commended ICAM for their benevolent gesture, adding that they greatly appreciated the timely intervention.
Governor of the Region Edward Seckan and some senior government officials attended the ceremony.
