Friday, July 17, 2009

Following three years of intensive training, twenty students over the weekend graduated at Takku Legaye Bundey Conteh Skills Training Centre, at a colourful ceremony held at the school’s ground.

Speaking at the ceremony, the principal of the school Mr. Momodou Lamin Jagne explained that the training programme was conducted by a Dutch foundation based in the Netherlands, called Child at Venture Foundation, in collaboration with Takku Legaye Skills Training Centre.

According to the Principal, the students have undergone an intensive and systematic entrepreneurial training course in the areas of marketing and market research, business planning, finance, personal skills and communications.

Mr. Jagne stated that the training is a result of their dedication, hard work and commitment to work. He noted that the objective is to empower young people to become entrepreneurs, and to also develop themselves in the area of marketing.

He also challenged the graduates to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the programme. He expressed delight at the parents for encouraging the students, noting that parents play a vital role towards the education of their children.

He also appealed to the parents to enrol more of their children in Takku Legay Skills Centre, adding that there are more rooms and opportunities available there.

Mr. Jagne also thanked Child Adventure Foundation in Netherlands for their support, noting that without their support this would not come to fruition.

Other speakers included Aja Amie Jatta, the proprietor of the school who also expressed similar sentiment. She urged the graduates to make the best use of the training programme. He finally urged them to show high sense of discipline at all times.
