The whereabouts of Kanyiba Kanyi, a staunch UDP supporter residing at Bonto, Kombo East, has not been known since Monday 18th September, after being picked-up from his compound by personnel believed to be members of the security forces.

According to Muhammed Sheriff Fofana, a friend to Mr Kanyi, he received a phone call from the arrestee’s wife that people claiming to be security personnel, in plain clothes including someone in police uniform, on board a Benz taxi, came for his husband at around 9pm on the stated Monday.

Mr Fofana said he was told that as soon as Mr Kanyi identified himself to the personnel who came for him, they did not allow him (Mr Kanyi) to even get into his house to change his clothes.

“Mr Kanyi is a strong supporter of the UDP party, and a social worker at the CCF, Kuloro branch, but none of us, be it his family, friends or loved ones, knows his whereabouts, or who is keeping him. We had embarked on a frantic search but cannot establish his whereabouts,” Mr Fofana lamented.
