Dr ABS Taal, erstwhile MD of the Daily Observer and a part-time Political Science Lecturer at the University of The Gambia, had his services with the Observer Company Limited (publisher of the Daily Observer newspaper) terminated.
This latest development at one of the country’s leading newspapers came barely 19 days after his reinstatement, which followed his 48-hours long removal.
According to reports that reached this paper, Dr Taal received his termination letter yesterday afternoon while in his office at the Daily Observer premises in Bakau.
Reliable reports indicated that Dida Halake, the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Observer, who assumed effective duty since November 1st, has also been appointed as the Managing Director.
