I met a guy. We started to talk and know each other. We had many things in common. We would talk on the phone every afternoon for like 3 hours. After a few months I told him how I felt, I told him that I loved him, that he was the perfect guy for me! But unfortunately, he didn't feel the same. He told me he loved me, but as a friend.
I was destroyed. My whole entire life I was looking for a guy like him, and when I finally did, he turned me down. In 11th grade, I was still in love with him. We would still talk, but never about the topic. Then one day, he stopped talking to me. He wouldn't call, he wouldn't meet me where we would always meet, and I was going crazy. My friends kept telling him "why don’t you give her a chance?"

But like always he would ignore their comments. Then in 12th grade on Valentines Day I finally went up to him and told him "this is your last chance, do we have a chance to be together?"

He turned me down. I have never been so hurt in my life. I wanted to end it. I was having love problems, family problems, and school problems. I couldn’t stand it any more. I prayed to god every night for help, I would cry to fall asleep, but still I had no luck. I finally gave up. I said to myself its time to move on.........

4 months before graduation, 1 month before prom, my friend told me about this guy named Omar. She told me that he was one of those popular guys at school. I had never heard of him. She told me that he saw a picture of mine in her wallet and he thought I was cute. I didn't put any attention to him (since he was popular I knew nothing was going to happen).
Then one day, I and my friend were standing outside in a line to order food. When I saw this hottie in front of me! Wow! He really looked good!!!! He had beautiful eyes!! I showed my friend (the one that told me about the popular guy that liked my picture) and when I showed her she started screaming!! She said" oh my god that’s the guy that I was telling you about!!! What a coincidence!!! Do you like him? Do you wanna go out with him? etc. etc. That same night, she called telling me that she talked to him (Omar) and he told her if I was interested in going to prom with him. I went crazy!!! I was like “of course!!!"
But first we had to know each other a little more. We started talking. Then in gradnite May 06, 2001, he asked me out. We were in Disney world. The most beautiful thing in the world had happened to me. There were fireworks, music everything that a girl could dream of!! 2 weeks later we went to prom!! It was beautiful!! After a month of being together, he finally said the words “I love you Lili" I couldn’t say the same thing to him because it was too soon. I wasn’t so sure about what I felt. After 2 months of being together, he went to New York to visit family. I was alone. I couldn't stand it!! I needed him next to me.
That’s when I realized that I loved him. I thank God for him everyday of my life. I know God was saving him for me all this time that I have been suffering. Omar had a car accident 1 year before we met, he could have lost his life; that’s why I know that god saved him for me. He has changed my life completely.
Who would’ve thought the popular guy would end up with nobody!? We have been together for 1 year and 2 months. We love each other very much. Our next step together is, saving up some money and moving out. Maybe in 4-5 years we will get married. Omar I love you and I thank God for you!! You are my angel sent from above! I will never let u down. I love you!!!
