Football final in Kerr Mama

Sunday, Match 18 will be a great day in Kerr Mama village, Upper Niumi District, North Bank Region, when Masosseh of Kerr Mama will lock horns with Wallidan of Fass Saho in the long awaited nawettan final at Alhagi Gabbie Sosseh Mini-stadium.

Sunday’s final will be played in memory of the late Momodou Manneh, a former sports writer and the final match is sponsored by Baboucarr Jallow, a former GFA/FIFA referee who now lives in the US.

There will also be a third place play-off between Sani and Saloum on Saturday, March 17.

The grand final came on the heels of a summer tourney that gathered five villages - Kerr Mama, Fass Saho, Pakau Saloum, Sani and Kerr Chebou.

A giant trophy and cash amount of D7, 000 await the lucky winner while the runner up will bag D4, 000. The winner of the third place play-off will go home with a consolidation prize of D2, 000.

Numerous dignitaries are expected to grace the Sunday final match, notably among them are Mr. Sheikh Omar Faye, SoS for Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs, officials of The Gambia Football Association, officials of the National Sports Council, and the chief of the area.
