In Miss Black Beauty Pageant AFDG to be launched at Paradise Suit

This culminated from a request made by His Excellency Yahya Jammeh, President of the Republic of The Gambia.
According to Ya Ramou Ngum Nyang, proprietress of Ramou Nyang’s Home of Fashion, who also doubles as AFDG’s current President, said the launching is part of the activities marking the Miss Black America Beauty Pageant. Considering that they have been put in the forefront of the forthcoming event in designing, tailoring and supplying the contestants with customes.
She thanked President Jammeh for his unflinching support, noting they really want to show that they deserved the Head of State’s confidence.
Elaborating on the main activities that are suppose to take place during the launching, Aji Ida Sallah, proprietress of Yelibana Fashion Boutique, indicated that a trade fair will also be held at the African Union Trade Fair grounds in Kololi, opposite Senegambia Car Park from today May 22 to June 2, 2007.
As the former President of AFDG, Aji Ida Sallah, seized the opportunity to explain that the association set up in February 2002, has been participating in fashion and trade fairs throughout the world (Nigeria, Ghana and United States). She also expressed as one of their ambitions, the willingness to establish a skills centre capable of absorbing girls who have been left out of the school system.
