Located in the Senegambia area in Kololi, about a hundred metres from Kololi Casino, the trendy Jojo’s Bistro and Grill House - which opened its doors on the 19th of October last year - offers any discerning connoisseur of good food the opportunity to embark on wonderful gastronomical adventures that they are unlikely to encounter anywhere else in the Smiling Coast.

If you are seeking to satisfy not just your tummy but your palate as well, then a trip to Jojo’s is well worth your while. As you enter the courtyard, the lady of the house herself, Jojo, welcomes you with a warm smile and perhaps a few salutary words. If this is not your first time, she would most probably know your name.

That is what gives Jojo’s its homely feeling. Dining out at Jojo’s is just the same as doing so in your own dining room. The only difference is that you don’t have to serve yourself or do any cleaning up!

Once at Jojo’s, one has a choice of different places to sit. The classy outdoor eating area is a popular spot. There is also the main bar and restaurant which is indoor.

For those who are more interested in the liquid side of life, the Garden Bar with its well tended garden is the place to be. This is a good place to have a drink and chit-chat the night away. It is a favourite of older people, who prefer to eat there.

The menu is a blend of international cuisine, all at affordable prices. Most of the products used in the preparation of meals are from local sources.

The different varieties of seafood are a good try. Peter, the Belgian chef, personally goes to the beach everyday to select the best fish. So, you know that what you are eating is fresh and healthy.

The house’s steaks are also worth sampling. Thick, juicy, tender and cooked in pepper sauce, blue cheese or homemade béarnaise, they are appetizing enough to make any mouth water.

These are not the only thing that Jojo’s has to offer. There is also live music every night of the week. There is enough variety on offer to satisfy any music lover. Every Monday there is a variety of jazz music provided by the Baatin band.

Tuesdays are acoustic nights. Entertainment is provided by two groups who take it in turns to entertain customers.

On Wednesdays, the Selasi Band rocks the place with salsa music. Thursdays and Sundays are specials dance nights.

Fridays, Mango Bi – a modern day acoustic trio - takes over. Saturdays are to days to witness Ken, Amina and Tex of the Baatin band doing their stuff.
