Alhagie Bun Gaye, who captained his team in the GFA super cup final on Friday, praised his team coach, Ebrima Cham Joof, after winning the 2008 title.
Bun Gaye, speaking to Pointsports after his side’s victory said, “We have the youngest coach in the league; he is very focused and shows everybody respect in the team. Lukeh is a fine coach; during the short period that we worked with him he has shown good conduct. We really appreciate his effort as he came from a small team to manage a team as big as Ports, and won a trophy. He needs to be commended for a great job.”
Bun Gaye added that the team has unity and cohesion, and are working very hard to make sure that they will win the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup in Ivory Coast by the help of God.
Commenting on the game, Bun Gaye said he was very pleased with the victory as he was wearing the captain’s armband for GPA for the very first time and got the only goal of the game. “It is a great moment for me which I will never forget in my life. But after all we must concentrate in our next game, in the return leg in Abidjan to make sure we win our game. As captain I always tell my players to be focused on our return leg. We have a good young coach and for our part we can help him to achieve his goal which every body in the team is ready to do.” He added, “we are a family and ready to face anybody.”
