One Musa Kinda Bah was on Tuesday arraigned before Magistrate Mboto of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court, charged with “giving false information to a public servant and uttering false documents.”
On count one, the particulars of the offence read that the accused, Musa Kinda Bah, on or about 4th May 2006, in the city of Banjul and diverse places in The Gambia, gave false information to Office of the President that Senior Managers, Directors and Head of Department of Gamtel engaged in malpractices, wrong doings, nepotism, knowing it to be false.
On count two the particulars of offence revealed that “on the 4th of May 2006 at Gambia Telecommunications Company Limited in the city of Banjul, Republic of The Gambia, the accused uttered false certificate to the Managing Director of Gamtel,” claiming to possess Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance Major) from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, which he knew to be false.
The accused denied the allegations, before being granted court bail in the sum of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who had to meet the bail condition.
The case was at that juncture adjourned to 2nd July for continuation.
