Editor,
I simply want to comment on the verdict passed on the Senegalese murderer.
One commentator stated that she is a human rights activist so she opposes the death sentence. Now, I want to know if the life that was taken by the convict was that of an animal or a fellow human being; if she is sympathising with the killer or the killed; if it is the former, then where is the human rights?
I think the concept of human rights has to be based on justice as one of its fundamental principles.
I think the verdict by the judge was perfect; otherwise let us all foresee being killed by someone sometime in our lives with the person only going to jail. Whosoever kills deliberately must be hanged without any other option.
