Lamin Sarr to Take Charge as U-20 Coach

Following the resignation of The Gambia U-20 Head Coach Lorenzo Rubinacci, Lamin Sarr assistant Coach of the team will now head the U-20 national side and will be assisted by Franco Crescentini, Italian Goalkeeper trainer.

Speaking to Pointsports the President of The Gambia Football Association Mr. Seedy MB Kinteh has said, “the resignation of the Italian coach Lorenzo Rubinacci will not affect the teams preparation, the team is well prepared and our priority is to qualify. In every team there is an attachment of Gambian coaches who will assist the foreign ones to all the national teams.” According to President Kinteh, “the team has been training during the absence of former coach Rubinacci, under Lamin Sarr and Cressenti and are well ready for the game. We want all the national teams to qualify which is our priority. The team have been training since their arrival from Mauritania and we are focusing on our game against Ghana in Accra because we want to qualify.”

Ahead of Ghana’s encounter, GFA President said, ” five foreign based players are invited,  the players Sainey Sidibeh from VFL 93 Germany, Pa Modou Jagne of FC Wills in  Switzerland, Abdoulie Ken Mansally and Sainey Nyassi of New England Revolution in America, Abdourahman Dampha who plays  professional football in  Algeria.”

“Sanna Nyassi in not yet settled with his team this is why he is not included in the players invited,” he explained.
