35 Red Cross members on first-aid dissemination trainingWednesday, April 15, 2009 The Bakau Home Red Cross Link, under the auspices of The Gambia Red Cross Kanifing branch, last Saturday began a week-long training of 35 members on first aid dissemination at the Bakau New Town Lower Basic School. According to Demba Njie, co-ordinator of the training, said the purpose of the trainng is to give knowledge to young people on first aid knowledge and skills and also to have better understanding of the Red Cross movement. He said that the objective of Red Cross is to preserve and save life. "Our main objective is to make sure that in every household, there is a first aider. We want to reduce human pain.
