Assailant JailedMonday, June 15, 2009 The conviction and sentence follows the convict’s own plea of guilty to the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm. According to the facts as narrated by the prosecuting officer, Sgt 1179 Babucarr Camara, it happened on the 1 June 2009, at He adduced that during the exchange of words, both of them were angry and that they moved to another compound and while the complainant Simong was standing at the gate of the compound, the convict took a stick and a metal axe and hit the complainant on the head causing him injury. He said the complainant was rushed to Banjulinding Health Centre where he was treated, and a medical certificate was issued to that effect.
