Assan Jatta is Still Leading Scorer

With the 2008 league season near its end as next week match between the champions and Hawks will produce the penultimate matches of the season.

As the race for the marksman award gathered momentum, and strikers in the league put up a strong show for the golden boot award of the season, the tall lanky striker of the giant killers (Biko), Assan Jatta, has his nose in front of the race of the talismanic man show after he registered eleven goals. The league leading top scorer was in free scoring shape of late following a quadruple against Sait Matty, which helped him to prevail over his close contenders.

The other strikers involved in the race are, Daddy Gai, who is now playing his trend in Montreal, struck nine goals in his name with Bakau United before leaving for his maiden season in Canada with his striking partner Ebrima Camara netting nine goals for Bakau United.

Armed Forces the 2008 league champions ace player Babou Sama, join Daddy Gai and Ebrima Camara with nine goals each in their names respectively. With the champions still having a game in hand against Haws next Thursday. The Khaki Boys prolific striker can win the golden accolade if he can score three goals.

Wallidan mid-field maestro and skipper George Cole, of all people, also amassed seven goals.
