Bamako Six Finally Return As NSC promise Stringent Measures

Following the unfortunate reports surrounding the plight of the handball players who went to Bamako in Mali, to take part in a sub-regional tournament, the six players who before yesterday were left in Bamako owing to bad experience sustain while returning home.

The six players, Abdulie Sanyang, Cherno Matarr Jallow, Alise Ceesay, Modou Lamin Dumbuya, Pa Badou Ndure and Alasana Sanyang who were the most affected persons in the reported accident were received yesterday while on arrival at the Banjul International Airport by the members of the interim committee of the National Sport Council, who strived all out to ensure the safe return of these players home, as part of their enshrine responsibilities contain in the sport council policy.

Speaking in a press conference, after the arrival of the players, interim chair of the council Alex Dacosta made an earlier warning that goes appealing to all sporting associations, that all outside trips by national sport associations must be according to the entails of the policy of the National Sport Council and no association should embark on organizing such trips on their own without the advice of the sport council.

Mr. Dascosta further elucidated that, the suspension of the president and the coach of the handball association was in line with the act of the sport council and not taken discretionally.

Mr. Dascosta revealed that the six were taken to Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital for medical check-up to determine their medical status before finally handing them to their respective families.
