British Couple Presents Cash to Medina Sering Mass School

Medina Sering Mass Basic Cycle School in Region three, North Bank Region last week Thursday benefited from a handsome donation of cash, amounting to D40, 000.
The money was donated by long time friends of the school, Mr. and Mrs. Garry Cockburn Warwickshire in UK.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony Mr. Cockburn thanked the administration of Medina Sering Mass Basic Cycle School for their efforts in trying to achieve quality education for the future leaders of The Gambia. He indicated that the assistance they are rendering to the school since 1997 is not only from him and his wife, but their other friends in UK are also contributing, particularly Colin and Linda Jones who he revealed provided the school with furniture. He promised to raise more funds for the school in UK whether in kind or in cash. In conclusion, he advised the teachers to inculcate discipline into the students for their own betterment.

Mr. Joof described Abdoulie Jallow as a great man who cares for his own children and gave assurance to the donors that anything that comes into the hands of Mr. Jallow on behalf of the school will solely reach them. He told the donors that their gesture for the past twenty-two years is fully appreciated by the school administration, his committee members and the villagers of Medina Sering Mass in general.

According to Principal Ceesay the perimeter fence of his school is 432sq out of which the Gambia Agency for the Management of Public Works (GAMWORKS) is to fence 371M and the remaining 61M will be fence by the school.
