The Brikama Magistrates’ Court recently heard a criminal case of rash and negligent act causing death brought against one Bakary Fatty.

According to the prosecuting officer, Sgt Musa Njie, the incident happened on 15th June 2009 when the accused was driving a motor vehicle with registration number Kharafi 05 coming from Brikama toward Mandinaba. He said upon arrival at Kembuje, the accused happened to knocked a vehicle with registration number KM 5142A of seven passenger and as result one Safiatou Jallow who was in the seven passenger vehicle lost her life.

He further stated that the driver who was a father to deceased also sustained injury and was admitted at the hospital for treatment.

The case was adjourned to 29th June 2009.
