Kebba Bah, a Criminal Investigative Detective (CID) attached to Serrekunda Police Station, has testified in court as the first prosecution witness in the ongoing criminal trial involving one Muniru Safirin who is charged with burglary.

Testifying before Magistrate Basiru Mahoney of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, Kebba Bah told the court that on 2nd February 2009, while on duty he received a case file on the subject matter.

He adduced that the accused was subjected to investigation and consequently he confessed to him that he broke into the house and made away with D2000.

He told the court that as a result the accused was cautioned and charged accordingly with the said offence before an independent witness.

The court then granted the prosecuting officer’s application to tender the said documents as exhibits.

The case continues for hearing on 12th May 2009.
