Ex-Convict In Court Again

One Babucarr Njie, an ex-convict was recently brought before Magistrate Fred Foster of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with shop breaking and stealing.

He denied the charges.

According to the particulars of the offence on count one, on 17th August 2009, at Tanji Village, the accused Babucarr Njie broke into the shop of one Mama Tako, with intent to commit a felony.

While count two revealed that, the accused Babucarr Njie on the same day and place, stole the following items: 50 packets of mustard, valued at D250,  eight packets of jumbo, valued at D640, thirty packets of ground-nut, valued at D150, one bag of Irris potato, valued at D450, six packets of carlnor, valued at D540, three bags of rice, valued at D2700, one gallon of oil, valued at D550, and four bottles of oil, valued at D200, all being the property of one Mama Tako.

Meanwhile, the accused was remanded until the next adjourned date.
