The Foundation Humanitarian Aid Gambia (FHAG) recently distributed 240 tables and 270 chairs to schools in Basse, Upper River Region. The furniture was donated by the Jacop Maris School in Rotterdam, Holland.

The beneficiaries included Bakadaji Lower Basic School - 20 chairs and tables; Nafugan Lower Basic School,  who received 17 chairs and tables; Basse Koba Kunda Lower Basic School, who got 150 chairs and tables; Ndemban Arabic school  - 30 chairs and tables;  and Kending Saibel Nursery School - 30 chairs and tables.

The furniture was handed over to the beneficiaries last Sunday at Kending Saibel. The ceremony was attended by the district authorities and alkalolu of Kending Saibel, Tanji, Nyofelleh and Sifou as well as the people of Kending Saibel. Beppie Smits, treasurer of FHAG, expressed hope that the children and teachers will take good care of the new furniture and toys and thanked the people in Holland for their efforts.
