Sirreh Sanyang, mother of Abdoulie Bamba Sanyang who was part of the Gambia Handball team that was involved in an unfortunate road accident in Mali and is among the six currently hospitalized in Bamako, has called on the Gambia Handball Association to bring her son back home.

According to Sirreh a resident of Bakau, “I received a call that my son was involved in an accident and was injured in Mali. I could not speak to him after four days.

“On Monday, my son told me over the phone while crying that he wanted to come back home as he is seriously suffering there and has no money with him. Being my only son and knowing the fact that he and his colleagues are left lying at the hospital, I cannot sleep until he is brought back.”

“What pains me is that there is no Gambia Handball Association official with them. I will sue the association to court if he comes with any abnormalities,” she said.

Sirreh was among the parents who went to the National Sports Council yesterday seeking explanations on how their injured children who are receiving medical attention at a Bamako hospital would be brought back home.

Others causalities during the road accident which was as a result of over speeding and are still in Bamako are: Abdoulie Sanyang, Cherno Matarr Jallow, Alise Ceesay, Modou lamin Dumbuya, Pa Babou Njure, Alasan Sanyang.
