The chief of Jokadu district, chief Jim Fatma Jobe, last Monday during the president’s meet the people tour, appealed to president Jammeh to help the farmers in Jokadu with fertilizer at affordable prices because most of the people in his district are farmers. Chief Fatma Jobe made these remarks in a meeting that was held in his native village Kerr Jarrga when the president visited the village on his country wide tour. The chief advanced he was instructed by the farmers in his region to convey their message to the president.

Honourable Yankuba Touray in addressing the gathering advised the farmers to start clearing their farms early because the rains are just around the corner. Mr Touray pointed out that we should work hard in order to be self reliant. He finally urged the youth to learn skills and put it in to practice because we all cannot work in the office. Honourable kebba Gaye the NAM of the district on his part commended the president for providing clean drinking water for seventeen villages within Jorkadu and providing a brand new ambulance to Kuntair Health Centre and finally thanked the president for extension of the road side.
