Keneba Islamic institute appeals for help

Alhagie Sutay Kebba Ceesay, Principal of Keneba Islamic Institute, an Arabic school under the Al-Manarah Islamic Association in Keneba, Lower River Region has said that his school has major financial constraints that are currently affecting the running of the school. According to him, the school started operations in 1977 under the Al-Manarah Islamic Association in Keneba, Kiang west. He said they are in dire need of funds to build the school fence, cover their well and pay salaries. Mr Ceesay made these revelations during an interview with the Daily Observer. According to him, the school has registered remarkable achievements in academic performance, as well boast of a solid complex for learning. The school currently has a population of about 500 students. It also has doctorate degree courses for its students in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Libya. He said the school has acquired funding from Africa Muslim Agency and Islamic Bank to build some classroom blocks and an office. Author: by Musa Ndow
