Makasutu Suffer Another Heavy Defeat

Makasutu’s hope of recovering from their 1-nil defeat to Kinteh United has suffered another setback when they were humiliated 7-nil by current leaders, Interior at the Seaview football field last Friday. This is Makasutu’s second heavy defeat following their 4-0 lost to Company Ten in their opening fixtures two weeks ago.

Star striker Awa Demba scored in each half to help Interior thrash struggling Makasutu when she twice capitalized on a defensive blunder to drill home two fantastic close-range efforts in the 1st and 19th minutes before team mate Confidence Ogbonna extended Interior’s lead in the 26th minute.

Despite missing numerous scoring chances, Interior continued their impressive scoring record with another brace from Fatou Darboe who completed her second goal from a powerful header before Isha Saidykhan and Nyima Jobe put their names on the score sheet.

Interior are still leading the table after 3 successive wins which took them to 6 points with a 7 goal advantage having conceded only 1 goal in 3 matches.

Meanwhile, the other game in the female 1st division league on Saturday saw a second defeat for Kinteh United when Abuko United beat them 2-nil at the Sea View football field.

Elsewhere in the female second division on Saturday, Jamcity collected their 2nd win in a row with an impressive 4-1 thrashing of Future Bi.

Fatou Jarju was JamCity’s hero of the day when she netted a hat-trick before Jula Sanyang and team-mate Mammy Sylva increased their advantage to wrap up the score.

Future Bi who is still struggling to collect their first win in two matches occasionally went close to scoring, they could only manage a consolation when Mariama Kujabi converted a spot kick for her side’s only goal of the game.
