The Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Fred Foster recently heard a criminal case of assault, causing actual bodily harm brought against one Yusupha Drammeh of Brikama.

According to the particulars of offence, on 6th August 2009 at Brikama Town, the accused Yusupha Drammeh assaulted one Abdoulie Jammeh by hitting him three times with a pestle on his head.

When the charge was read to him and interpreted to him in the language he claimed to understand, he pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, he was granted court bail in the sum of D20, 000, with two Gambia sureties.

The case was adjourned to 14th September 2009.
