Man Charged With Two counts

One Muhammed Basiru Dem recently appeared before Principal Magistrate Kayode of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, charged with two counts of obstruction and threatening violence, contrary to the Laws of the Gambia.

According to the charge sheet on count one, the accused Muhammed Basiru Dem on 22nd July 2009, at Kololi obstructed a team of Police Officers while in the due execution of their duties.

Count two read that, on the same day, place and time, the accused Muhammed Basiru Dem, armed with a knife threatened to kill Abdoulie Sallah and Lamin Njie.

When the charge sheet was read to him, he pleaded not guilty to both counts.

The case was adjourned to 19th August 2009.
