A Senegalese national was on 18th December 2008 convicted and sentenced by the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, following his plea of guilty for possessing carcass of a stolen sheep.

Sheikh Krubally was convicted and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour. The presiding magistrate also gave a deportation order for him to be deported from The Gambia after serving his sentence.

In passing judgement, Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh asserted that the convict deserved some harsh punishment to act as a deterrent to others.
