The secretary of state for Youth and Sports, Mr Sheriff Gomez, will preside over the launch of a marketing committee, which will be tasked to raise the needed fund to facilitate The Gambia Under 17 team’s participation in the 2009 African U-17 Championship to be hosted in Algeria next month.

A terse statement from the GFA secretariat has revealed that the launching ceremony will take place at Professor Yahya Jammeh Joint Officers’ Mess situated at Kotu at 12:00 noon today.

The committee, after the official unveiling,  the release added, will also help to raise fund to facilitate the Baby Scorpions trip to Egypt for a training camp ahead of the Algeria event, which is scheduled between March 19 and April 3, 2009.
