New ambulance for Siffoe Health Center

Foundation Helping Hands, a humanitarian organisation based in Belgium, last Sunday donated a Pajero ambulance to the Siffoe Community Health Centre in Kombo South at a presentation ceremony held at the health center.
The donation of the ambulance was meant to ease the difficulties the people of the area encounter in times of emergences. Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman of the Siffoe Village Development Committee (VDC) Janko Jabang, expressed optimism that the ambulance will go a long way in facilitating the transportation of patients even from their houses to the health centre. To this end, he said the gesture is timely, especially at this time when the rainy season is fast approaching. Jabang thanked the donors, describing the donation a worthy gesture and call on the people of the village to close ranks in the interest of development. Lamin Jamba Jammeh, ward councilor of the area, expressed appreciation to the donors. He urged the people to handle the ambulance with great care. Cor De Bresser, head of Foundation Helping Hands, called on the people of Siffoe to work collectively towards the attainment of development. The ceremony was also involved cultural dances by the people of the village to show their happiness about the gesture, followed by a presentation of certificates to the donors.
