Nigeria Investors To Explore Gambian Business Industry

Four Nigerian leading companies: Youth Dynamix, JWT advertising Limited, MSM Media Supermart Limited, forming one big company known as Lawson, Thomas and Colleagues Limited, are presently in the Gambia to discuss plans and ways to explore Gambian business.

The Nigerian investors, who are on retreat at the Sheraton Hotel and  Spa in Brufut told journalists during a press briefing that they are ready to invest in the Gambia.

Speaking at the news conference was Mr. Charlies O. Abraham, the group’s Managing Director/CEO, who told Gambian journalists that, their missions is to be a leading professional, integrated marketing communications network in West Africa by 2014, adding that they also “aim to be the first class integrated marketing company by identity and explaining business opportunities, working with technical partners and to create champions in the industry in the sub- sectors, harnessing and developing for the benefit of their customers”.

The group’s Managing Director said they have different products to offer to the Gambian markets, saying Gambia is a good place for investment and the products are cost effective.

He further added that they are global company and the Gambia is a popular destination for tourists.

According to him, many banks are coming to the Gambia which is also a motivating factor for them to invest in the Smiling Coast of the Gambia.

Mr. Abraham, however, said the Gambia has a lot of potential and the environment is business-friendly, saying that trade will quickly develop here.

For her part, Funke Babatola, the Managing Director of Youths Dynamix told journalists that, Nigeria’s population, 65% constitutes youths who play a vital role in any society.

Coming to the Gambia, she added, will avail the youths lots of opportunities.

Other Nigerian investors who spoke at the ceremony were Victor Edegbe, Group Chief operating Officer LCT Advertising Ltd, Bisi Afalabi, Executive Director, Tunde Salawi Group Human Resources Director, Agboo La Sheu Group Executive Director Services Lawson, Thomas and Colleagues Ltd.
