Chief Inspector Mary Sowe, a CID Police Officer attached to Bakoteh Police Station, recently testified in the ongoing criminal case of obtaining money by false pretence involving one Amadou Jallow.

In her testimony, Chief Inspector Sowe told the court that on 18th May 2009, she was on duty at the station when a case file was forwarded to the CID Office, which involved obtaining money by false pretence.

According to Chief Inspector Sowe, the accused was interrogated and confessed that he actually did the act, together with one Omar who was in the bush somewhere around Bijilo ‘playing the role of a devil’. He pledged that the complainant, one Muhammed Drammeh who is a Fire Service Officer, would get whatever he wants in this world.

Chief Inspector Sowe, continuing her testimony, informed the court that the accused promised the complainant that he would be rich, and that he will also be the head of their department.

Officer Sowe also told the court that the accused told the complainant that he will also get the woman he loves most.

Inspector Sowe explained to the court that the accused asked the complainant to give D10, 000 to Omar, who was in the bush, adding that during the interrogation the accused told them that when the money was handed over to Omar he too got his share.
