Qcell FC Register Win in Gunjur Nawettan

Qcell FC on Wednesday 19th August 2009, registered their first victory in the ongoing Gunjur Nawettan Championship, following their narrow1-0 win over Pentagon FC, in a do-or-die encounter at Gunjur Football Field at 5pm kick-off.

Both put up remarkable performances in the first half of the game, and made some serious assaults in each other’s goal mouth, but both sides were unable to break the deadlock, and thus the first half ended 0-0.

As action resumed in the second half, Pentagon FC who needed a draw to advance to the quarter-final were heavily defending and relied on counterattacks, while Qcell FC needed a victory to advance to the quarter-final were determined and eager for a victory in order to reach the quarter-final and avoid elimination in the group phase of the championship. They regrouped themselves and mounted heavy pressures on Pentagon FC, and then registered their lone in the dying minute of the game through Banuha Barrow. Pentagon FC who needed a draw to advance to the quarter-final fought back and created a few opportunities, but they were unable to level the tally until the 90th minute of play ended 1-0 in favour of Qcell FC.
Qcell FC now have 5 points from three games, while Pentagon managed to collect 4 points from three game and Oxford United FC also collected 5 points from three games.

Commit FC continued their beaten record in the championship after their 1-0 win over struggling Jannehkoto FC in the 3pm kick-off.

Commit FC collected maximum 6 points from two games, while Jannehkoto collected 3 points from three games with a game in hand.
