Tuesday, July 14, 2009

On Sunday 19th July 2009, St Peter’s Senior Secondary School will host a one-day mega sporting Jamboree on different sporting disciplines.

The event is organised by the Smiling Coast Tour group from the USA alongside The Gambia Martial Arts Academy.

The one-day Jamboree will feature football, basketball, volleyball tournaments, martial arts and exhibitions.

The group will arrive in Banjul on the 16th July 2009.

Master Tung Dinh, among the visiting tourist, will be conducting a training course and demonstrations with Gambia Martial Arts Academy on the same day.

He is a well known talented Martial Arts Instructor (having attained the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt), and has also become a respected businessman and community leader in Western Kentucky.

Dinh who has made numerous achievements in his filed, firmly believes that he can and you can do anything you set your mind to do. He is frequently heard around the center quoting one of his favorite mantras, “If you try, you fail; if you commit, you succeed.”

Smiling Coast Tours started operations in 2009, taking their first group of tourists on an everlasting life experience trip to The Gambia (in May, July and December of every year, starting this year). This is a new company founded by a Gambian based in the United States Pa Lamin Sarr (CEO), to establish a link between The Gambia, USA and North America.

According to Pa Lamin Sarr, what makes Smiling Coast Tour different from the other is that they bring tourists who would contribute to the Socio-economic development of The Gambia, like sports, culture and education. Among the tourists coming is a professor in Journalism and Mass Communication and a professor in Social Work. They will be holding trainings and presentations at the University of The Gambia and other places in the course of their visit from 16th -26th July 2009.

CEO Pa Lamin Sarr promised that his company (Smiling Coast Tours) will always continue strives for national development.
