The U-20 Team Leaves For Nigeria

The Gambia National U-20 team left Banjul yesterday for Nigeria ahead of 2008 Wafu U-20 Youth Championship Tournament organised by the West African Football Union (WAFU).

Speaking to Pointsports, the head coach, Alhagie Sarr, said the team will first clash with Guinea Conakry on Friday 28th November 2008. The second match is the Senegambia derby on the 30th November 2008 and they will meet the Ghana U-20 team on the 2nd December 2008.

Mr. Sarr, stated that his boys are well prepared for the tournament and that they will do their level best to raise the flag of The Gambia.

Coach Sarr appealed to Gambians to keep praying for the team so that they can bring the trophy home. He assured Gambians that his boys would perform up to expectations in Wafu Tournament in Nigeria.
