One Jarreh Cham a driver, from Sukuta village last Monday testified before Magistrate Mahoney at Brikama Magistrates' Court in the ongoing trial of the three accused who are charged with conspiracy and stealing. The charge they all denied.

In his testimony, Jarreh Cham told the court that some time in 2005, he was called by the SO of the Brikama Police Station Edrissa Badjie who told him that there was a lady who is not feeling well and had a telephone number without a name. Mr Cham added that the SO later invited him to the station to look whether he would be able to recognize the lady. He said upon his arrival, he recognized the lady and the SO asked him to take her back home which he did.

PW4 further added that within the same year 2005, Amie’s husband called from Holland telling him that he was told that his wife Amie had died. He adduced that Gasper, the husband of Amie told him to take the phone to Amie’s compound which he did, adding that he had Ramou telling Gasper that “am joking with you about Amie’s death.”

He testified that, Amie called him to inform him that she had that her compound was sold which he said he had no idea, but he would find out. Mr Cham said when he find out, he came to understand that the compound was sold to one man at a cost of D600,000 (Six hundred thousand dalasis). He said when Amie came back from Holland, she reported the matter to Wellingara Police Station.

The case was adjourned to 20th July 2009.
