Whats On: Peppa House busy on new album

One of the leading names in  Gambia’s hip-hop genre -Peppa House are currently busy on their second album, which is expected to storm the country’s airwaves soon.

The album is expected to comprise 12 tracks both video and audio cassettes. It will feature some hit tunes like ‘Yakam Ti Yahouley’, ‘Gamymengzp’, ‘Gorr’ and ‘Show Love to the Children’ among others.

Established in 1995 by young stars; namely, Tiju Brain aka Sheikh T, A. Jallow and Star  C aka Modou Lamin Fatty and the late MJ, the group still remains a leading force in the country’s hip-hop sector, since the release of their much succesful debut album ‘Break-Out” in 2003.

Due to their determination in moving their music to higher level, the group formed Bulldorf Records in 2000 with a view to help young aspiring artists. The project paid dividend according to many as 60% of Gambian music played on both radio and TV underwent through this recording studio for proper and good sound check.  

In an interview with What’s On, Tigu Brain, disclosed that since the onset, the group has been working in all fronts to push their trade  to highier heights. Tigu observed that lack of music school and Copy Right  Bureau is  making their works difficult, and then called on authorities to look into the issue . He said will go a long way  in protecting  the country ‘s music industry as well as the young artists too.

He added that the authorities should also look into the issue of establishing  music schools to help improve the young talents. He called on their fans to be always there for them, as their upcoming album will be one of their best creative masterpieces.
