Mr. Ansumana JL Ceesay, the Auditor General of Jarumeh Koto Youth Development Association, has tasked his fellow youths to fully participate in the upcoming summer camp of Youth Ambassadors Of Peace (YAP).

The summer camp, solely organised by YAP opened on Saturday 25th July, 2009, at the Armitage Senior Secondary School in Janjanbureh, Central River Region.

In an interview with this reporter yesterday, Mr. Ceesay said that the week-long international youth summer camp is an avenue for youths to brainstorm on issues affecting them and look at strategies of resolving them.

Mr. Ceesay called on his colleagues to partake in it as the knowledge and skills gained from it will go a long way towards contributing to the socio-economic development of the nation.

Ceesay noted that such a camp will also foster tolerance and sense of oneness among the young people.

According to him, the summer camp will also promote international cooperation, friendship and understanding for the integration of African youths.

As youths, he advised, “we need to speak one voice and forge ahead for the development of the country, Africa and the world at large”.

This, he said, will enable young people to achieve the dreams of uniting themselves.

He then commended YAP for organising the summer camp, which he said, has brought together participants from other countries.

Mr. Ceesay stated that the coming together of the youths for such a gathering would enable them better cooperate and understand each other.

Mr. Ceesay also thanked the pioneers of Jarumeh Koto Youth Development Association, noting that their stand is part of nation-building. He described them as true citizens of the village.

He also hailed the general membership for their nomination, saying that “I will leave no stone unturned as I will participate to the maximum and I encourage others”.

 “I will fulfill my task bestowed on me during the course of the summer camp,” he added.

He further called on all citizens of the village, especially the youths to join the association, saying that the association was established on humanitarian grounds.

He explained that the association was formed on the basis of the desire to help and motivate the youths, especially those living in the Kombo’s.

“With youths of the village coming together, we can create mutual understanding among ourselves as well as assist each other in the sustainable development of our village,” he stated.

Jarumeh Koto Youth Development Association was formed in March 2004, and was officially registered on 3rd March 2004 as a charitable association.

Jarumeh Koto Village is situated in Jami District in the Central River Region.
