Ebrima Sanyang who was performing as a Zimba during the Bundung incident in which the accused Alieu Faal, a Zimba performer, is alleged to have caused the death of one Ebrima Morro Ndure, recently testified at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

In his testimony, Ebrima Sanyang told the court that he has known the accused Alieu Faal and that he himself was at the Zimba program in Bundung performing as a Zimba. He said while performing as a Zimba, he noticed that one of the Zimbahad chased a child. He said later he came to learn that one of the Zimba had beaten a child off the program. He added that they immediately stopped the programme and went to a nearby compound to undress and later learned that the child had died. He said later he gave himself in to the police when he learned that his sister was arrested in connection to the incident.

The case was at length adjourned to 19th January 2009.
