Ebrima Sohna’s ownership saga: GFA clarifies its position

Monday, November 26, 2007

The Gambia Football Association has furiously made its position on Ebrima Sohna’s ownership saga clear declaring that ‘no decision has been made’ as far as the long-standing case is concerned.
Insiders at the clubs concerned (Wallidan and Steve Biko) had earlier on hinted to Observer Sports that a final decision was made on the case.

However, this claim is contrary to the words of both the president and vice-president of the Gambia Football Association, Seedy Kinteh and Lang Tombong Tamba, respectively.
Speaking to Observer Sports yesterday, the GFA vice-president who doubles as chief of defence staff of the Gambia Armed Forces, Brigadier-General Lang Tombong Tamba re-echoed his president’s recent statement that no decision has been reached yet.

He said the officials of the clubs concerned (Wallidan and Steve Biko) cannot substantiate any report related to the case, noting  that the fact that both of the clubs are yet to receive a formal letter is enough evidence that nothing has been finalised.

“The football association is the only body that can substantiate any report related to the matter and not the officials of the club involves,” he said.
