A magistrate of the Banjul Magistrates’Court on Tuesday has said that the re-arrest of former NAWEC managing director, Abdou Jobe, was unlawful; and therefore ordered the relevant authorities to release him with immediate effect.
In her ruling following an application by defence counsel Sheriff Tambedou for his client to be released, Magistrate Mboto stated that since the re-arrest is connected to the case before the court, Mr Jobe’s arrest is therefore unlawful. She further adduced that Jobe should not be rearrested until such time as his bail condition is revoked.
