36 Plymouth-Banjul challengers arrive

Thirty-six challengers of the first batch of the Plymouth-Banjul rally were on Tuesday, received at the Independent Stadium, Bakau by Mr George Gomez, the Executive Secretary of The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC).

Receiving the challengers, Mr Gomez praised them for their heroic trip adding that the rally undoubtedly support not only the tourism sector, but also the country’s economic sector. Mr Gomez said the challengers made a good decision to choose the The Gambia which he described a a save haven in Africa. He finally assured them of his office support at all times.

The challengers who started their marathon journey to The Gambia at High park, in London on December 17, came from different parts of Europe and South America, including Holland, German, Canada and Argentina.
