The embattled nephew of the President of the Republic was yesterday brought to a magistrate’s court to testify against two men who were charged alongside him for allegedly being found in possession of firearms.
Aziz Tamba, who was earlier on convicted and sentenced to an eight-year jail term after admitting guilt for being found in possession of firearms, was brought to the Bundung Magistrate’s Court under police protection to give evidence in the trial of his co-accused.
The men had pleaded otherwise. But the trial could not proceed due to the absence of the presiding magistrate.
Aziz was in the meantime returned to the State Central Prison in Banjul.
