One Babucarr Njie of Serrekunda, London Corner a photographer yesterday testified in the on-going criminal case involving five Senegalese Custom officers, presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ court.
In his testimony before the court yesterday, Mr. Njie said on 7 February 2007, he was called by one Aziz Hydara, who contacted him to take photos of the arms and ammunitions found in possession of the five Senegalese Custom officers.
Mr. Njie added that he took photographs of all the arms and ammunition, including the accused persons and the boat they allegedly boarded. He told the court that he took six photographs, and signed the back of each of the photos. Mr. Njie told the court that he took the photos at the Naval Headquarters in Banjul and later handed them over to Aziz Hydara. The photos were then tendered and marked as exhibits.
At this juncture, the presiding Magistrate adjourned the case to February 28 2007, to allow Alieu Cham to cross examine the witness and subsequently ordered the prison authorities to provide medical doctors for the accused persons, following a complaint made by Alieu Cham that the fifth accused was ill.
