It is now official the trio referees from the Federal Republic of Nigeria would be officiating the crucial African Nations Cup qualifier game between the Scorpions of The Gambia and the Dessert Warriors of Algeria on Sunday September 9, 2007.

The trio referees would arrive in Banjul tomorrow Saturday September 8, 2007 in the morning with Bellview Airlines.

Meanwhile the match commissioner would be Mr. Souleyman Magassouba from Mali.
He is expected in Banjul Today Friday and would be lodged at the Coconut Residence in Kololi.

According to reports reaching Pointsport, the controversial referees that showed red cards to Captain Ebou Sillah and Dawda Bah in Praia in June were identified by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate Sunday game in Banjul.

The reports added that, the Gambia Football Association (GFA) later sent a protest letter to CAF seeking for a change of referees.

CAF responded by replacing the controversial referees with the trio from Nigeria.
The fourth referee would come from The Gambia.
