The Gambia Ports Authority FC left Banjul last night for Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to face ES
Bengerville in the second leg tie of the CAF Confederation Champions. The decisive fixture is
scheduled for Saturday, March 1, in the capital of the former French colony.

After a 0-1 defeat by the visitors in the Banjul tie, Ports Authority will go into Saturday’s
match with a lone goal disadvantage.

And Ebrima Joof-Cham, who on Friday led the FA Cup champions to the Super Cup title, is
optimistic of punishing their hosts to ensure their progression to the next stage of the
continental club competition.

“We’re going to Abidjan in a good shape, and I hope to garner the desired result at the end of
the day. It may be difficult but it’s not impossible. They beat us 0-1 in Banjul and we can beat
them with more goals in Abidjan,” coach Joof-Cham told Observer Sports last night. He solicited
the support and prayers of the general public as they travel to the west African nation to defend
the national flag.
