Mother of Triplets Seeks Assistance![]() Wednesday, April 04, 2007 One Aminata Sillah, a 22-year-old lady who recently gave birth to triplets (one male and two females) in Bansang Hospital, is seeking assistance from the general public, the NGOs and government institutions to alleviate their suffering and dire condition.
According to Aminata, she is married to a poor farmer who had been trying very hard to make ends meet but their condition had grown worse. There is currently no food or funds at home to meet their most essential needs, she said. She also said even though the health condition of the children is good but she is starving and could not adequately breastfeed the babies and as a result their condition is rapidly deteriorating. “ I am pleading with the public and the President [H.E. Yahya Jammeh] to give us an helping hand so that we can take care of the children, as we have nobody to help us,” she made a passionate appeal in Mandinka. “Due to poverty and hard time, my husband has left the matrimonial home,” she lamented.
