GTTI receive Swedish students

Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) on Monday, December 4 received partner students from Sweden in at the institutions campus in Old Jeshwang. They were later taken ob a familiarisation tour of the institution.
Speaking at the occassion, Edward Mansal said the friendship between GTTI and Rodengymnasiet College in Sweden was facilitated by the former SoS for Youths and Sports M. Sarjo Jallow. He said the link is aimed at fostering unity through exchange visits between the two schools. He said that these two institution are both technical and it’s students can experience different sets of technical knowledge and materials. Mr Mansal revealed that, they have signed a memorandum of understanding on a project to be built at at GTTI campus. He said this project will train students of both institute to develope their knowledge in water purification and also the renewable energy sector. “As Wednesday December 6 the water purification project will be built in the GTTI campus. A similar project has also started at Barra where a skills training centre located” For his part, Mr Stefan Karneback a lecturer and Co-ordinator of Rodengymnsiet College link who led the delegation, said as part of their visit into the Gambia they witnessed the setting up of a prototype for water purification run by electricity .
