No ocean's too wide

There was once a girl who thought it would be fun to send random e-mails to random addresses - blank. She sent one, and felt so embarrassed about it that she didn't send any more. The man she'd sent the blank e-mail to write back... he was soon to become the love of her life.
On looking back, it seems like an extraordinarily short time before he told her he was falling for her. The chemistry was tangible in the lengthy daily e-mails they exchanged. Before they knew it, they were deeply in love. It didn't seem possible, however, that they'd ever meet, let alone be together forever. You see, he lived in Albany, and she in Singapore - as far away as it is possible for two people to be on earth. And that wasn't all... She was 16, and he was 22, and her parents would never let her date, much less marry by her own choice, even when she was older. But they did make it. He traveled across the world and stayed for a week every year in Singapore, and she would tell her parents she was staying with friends, and they would live those few precious days in delirious joy. Time went by... He graduated with a post grad degree and found a job, she went to college, and graduated... For 7 years they kept in touch, calling each other up every day, e-mailing even more frequently. He introduced her to his parents, and everything was almost perfect... Her parents didn't know yet, and were sure to be very hurt and very angry if she told them. She chose her love for him over her desire to never hurt her parents. She told them. The period of turbulence that followed was intense and shattering, but he stood by her, and she found the strength to bear it. It's always the darkest before dawn. He married her on the seventh anniversary of their meeting, and they lived happily ever after. Author: by N. S. Joy
